Last Sunday, survivor of Unnao rape case met with a road accident where a
truck rammed into the car that she was travelling at Rae Bareli. Both her
relatives passed away in the accident. The survivor and her lawyer are in a
serious condition. The case has now been handed over to the Central
Bureau of Investigation (CBI) who will look into it. On Tuesday, the
crashed car was handed over to CBI team and the investigation is underway.
According to a report, the survivor and her family had written a letter to
the Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi about fifteen days
before the accident. In the letter, the survivor mentioned that she has been
facing threat for her life. Gogoi has now asked the court registry to submit
details of the letter as soon as possible.
The main accused Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who allegedly raped
the survivor, is a BJP leader and has denied any involvement in the case. The
victim’s family stated that Sengar and his associates have been threatening
and harassing them to withdraw from the case.

comes after the victim is fighting for her life and her entire family has
literally been wiped out. Who will stay back to even see the justice? And
will that justice even mean anything?”, tweeted political commentor
