Former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid has landed in
controversy after the Board of Cricket Control of India
(BCCI)
sent a conflict of interest notice to the former
ace cricketer. For their latest move, BCCI was slammed by renowned cricketers
like Saurav Ganguly and Harbhajan Singh who
took a dig at the board through their Twitter accounts. Reportedly, Dravid,
who is the head of National Cricket Academy (NCA) and
vice-president of India Cements Group that owns IPL team
Chennai Super Kings was sent a notice by Justice (Retd) DK
Jain
on grounds of conflict of interest. This irked players like
Ganguly and Singh who openly came out to support Dravid.

New fashion in indian cricket …..conflict of interest ….Best way to
remain in news …god help indian cricket ……Dravid Gets Conflict of
Interest Notice from BCCI Ethics Officer. – Saurav Ganguly, Former
Indian Skipper.

Gupta’s notice states that Dravid is NCA director as well as the
vice-president of India Cements, which is against BCCI ethics. BCCI is
waiting for Dravid’s reply to take the next step. He is expected to give a
reply before 16 August.

This is not the first time that Jain is sending a notice to cricketers.
Cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and VVS
Laxman
were also sent a notice pointing out conflict of interests.

“Really?? Don’t know where it’s heading to.. You can’t get better
person than him for indian cricket. Sending notice to these legends is like
insulting them.. cricket need their services for betterment.. yes god save
Indian cricket”, tweeted former Indian cricketer Harbhajan
Singh.
