Former Delhi Chief Minister and Congress leader Sheila Dixit
passed away at the age of 81. Dixit, who was a heart patient, died of
cardiac arrest while being taken to the hospital on Saturday
evening.
Deeply saddened to learn about the demise of Smt Sheila Dixit Ji. My
prayers are with her family in this hour of grief-YS Jagan Mohan
Reddy, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
According to reports, Dixit underwent breathlessness and pain in the morning.
She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where she has been undergoing
treatment for heart ailments since the past two decades. Dixit was treated by
the best doctors who confirmed that she was stable. But by evening, she
underwent yet another cardiac arrest and was declared dead by 3: 55 pm.
Sheila Dixit was one of the most prominent leaders of Congress party. She was
the only chief minister who served in New Delhi for the longest
time. Reportedly, she has been undergoing routine health check-ups and
treatments. That is precisely the reason why her family and fans are shocked
by her sudden and immediate death.

#SheilaDixit ji. May her soul rest in peace”, tweeted actor Madhuri
Dixit Nene.
“#SheilaDixit demise will feel like a personal loss to anyone who grew up
in Delhi. During my school and college, the green cover of Delhi actually
grew by 300% ! A tall leader. Rest in peace ma’am. Condolences to family”,
tweeted actor Richa Chaddha.
