Recently, American President Donald Trump had sparked
controversy by saying that he can help resolve the issues between India and
Pakistan by becoming the mediator. While speaking to Pakistan Prime Minister
Imran Khan during a press meet, he went on to add that he
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought his mediation
into the matter. But the Indian foreign ministry had denied Trump’s claims.
Now, Trump has added fuel to the controversy by bringing it up yet again by
saying that he can intervene in the matter if both India and Pakistan wants
it.

Trump again makes offer for mediation on Kashmir if both Pakistan &
India agree to the offer. Statement made minutes before meeting between
India’s EAM @DrSJaishankar & US Secy of State @SecPompeo in Bangkok
which is on right now. Trump clearly clueless about Kashmir-Aditya

Trump even went on to clarify whether India had accepted his offer yet.
Meanwhile, India had already cleared the air by saying that they do not need
a third party intervention in the Kashmir issue, something that has caused
rivalry between both nations since partition in 1947.

After Trump’s statement last week, External Affairs Minister S
Jaishankar
informed Parliament that Modi has not discussed this
matter with Trump.

“#Trump has once again reiterated to play role 4 resolving Kashmir.
Unprecedented bold move. He said will mediate if #Modi is willing. Contrary 2
US past policy & #India’ hate 4 “M” word on what it believes
abilateral dispute, Delhi is embarrassed, thanks 2 diplomacy”, tweeted
Pakistani politician Jan Achakzai.
